"Language of Flowers" won the German Red Dot Prize 2023!

The winners of the Red Dot Award 2023 :Brands & Communication Design (Red Dot Award 2023), a prestigious international design award, have been announced. Flower Whisper, a collaboration between Ten by Ten Digital Art and CAFA Public Art and Experience Design Studio, was successfully selected! Known as the "Oscar" in the design industry, the Red Dot Award began in 1955, from the German Essen Industrial Design Award, and the German "IF Award", the United States "IDEA Award" and known as the world's three major design awards.

Flower Whisper, a permanent art installation designed for Beijing Daxing International Airport, the “new gateway” of China, has a velamen structure that blends well with Zaha Hadid’s streamlined, abstract and simple architectural style. The soft elastic fiber fabric stretches and breathes naturally like a living organism with the help of a mechanical device, and maintains a solid shape during opening and closing. It is a new type of flexible sculpture with a sense of life. Every “flower” of the installation can automatically adjust its size according to the sunshine, so that there is always comfortable lighting in the southwest hallway, which shields passengers from dazzling sunlight. At every hour, it dances gracefully to the music in mid-air like a kaleidoscope. It ripples like water waves, blooms like flowers, and waxes and wanes like the moon, presenting a white holographic image. In order to make it lighter and more flexible as a whole, every mechanical part is meticulously designed and perfectly concealed inside the installation, which is a perfect combination of explicit sense of art and implicit sense of technology.
